The Baby Room Begins...

Thank you Jeff for helping Carson move furniture on Saturday. We were able to get started on the baby room on Sunday!!! Carson put the crib together and we were able to dress it with the bedding we had bought.

Thank you Carson for putting all the furniture together. Only one more piece to go, I think. Hopefully we will get the dresser for Alexa's room this week!

We are quite pleased with how the crib looks with the bedding we chose. We do not have everything set up yet but, so far we like how it is looking!

Below: We had two curious cats who monitored how we began decorating the room as well as the pictures we were taking.

More pics to come as we continue to decorate and get the rest of the furniture; dresser & rocking chair.

We are still alive and well, very well!

It has been a couple months since I last updated our blog with the latest and greatest in our lives. We have traveled to Knoxville three times since the last post.

1. We drove in for Thanksgiving. It was great to see everyone for it had been several months. I also got to meet my newest nephew Jakob Swisshelm for the first time - boy is he a cutie! While we were in for Thanksgiving we also we present for both Jakob and Cole's Baptisms. Both Carson and I are now Godparents.
Before making it to Knoxville we took a mini detour to Lexington to see some friends. We stayed with my friend Michelle, who I had not seen in probably close to 2 years and got to meet her son Jackson. We had so much fun! It's times like those are when I really want to live closer to family and friends!

2. Mid December we took a quick weekend trip to Atlanta (Carson had to meet a client). We were able to stay and visit with our friends James and Becky and meet their sweet baby girl Addison.

3. Shortly after returning home we packed our bags again and drove to Knoxville for Christmas. It was nice to hang out and visit! While in for Christmas we were able to have a couple visits with my Grandmother who was in the hospital at the time. Those were good visits.

4. Back home we had a quick visit from Carson's parent's who came in unexpectedly due to the sudden death of John's brother. We were able to go with them to the viewing and church service in his memory.

5. Just a couple weeks later we packed our bags again and headed for Knoxville. This time we were in town for my Grandmothers funeral.

Now back in Maryland we are trying to settle in for a bit and get back to our regular routines. Although this has been tough considering we have had snow and ice that kept us in for a few days! Good thing Carson can work from home and not have to use his vacation days!

During this time we have also enjoyed being able to pass along our good news to friends and family - Carson and I are expecting our first child in August!
